Craig Crofton

Craig Crofton is  an Anglo/ American tenor and soprano saxophonist who has lived in the UK for 18 years and built up a great reputation for the power and ‘visceral excitement’ in his playing. A protégé of Marcus Printup (Lincoln Center Orchestra) he has come to develop a unique sound of his own that stands out in his many musical involvements. Craig has sessioned  with artists like Kasabian, Nittin Sawney, This is The Kit, and Mr Benn and  he is  at the forefront of popular Bristol bands  Dub From Atlantis, Baila la Cumbia , Los Mercenarios  and Freight  to name a few. Craig has also shared the stage with jazz greats including Wynton Marselis ,Maceo Parker , Dr Lonnie Smith,  John Faddis ,   Pee Wee Ellis and  has also featured on BBC Radio 4 “Loose Ends” and has played at Ronnie Scotts.

 
Craig is currently Asst . Director of The Blowoutsax School in Bath ,www.blowoutsax.com and also works at the Wiltshire Music Center as a freelance artists running music workshops. In  2014 Craig is one of 4 featured artists running the “Play Jazz Weekend” www.playjazzweekend.co.uk , a weekend  long jazz  workshop that includes rehearsing up ensembles for a performance at the end of the weekend and hosting master classes for people of all ages.
