Art Holiday Italy organises creative holiday courses in Umbria & Tuscany. Holiday courses include:

Taking an art holiday in Italy is an opportunity to find time and space to pursue creativity at your own pace!  Courses cater for all levels of experience and are run with specialist tutors.  Lucy likes to take small groups of three people at a time.

Whatever you chose, there is no better place to escape than Umbria and Tuscany for warmth, light, creativity and of course food and culture. We look forward to meeting you.

We offer a ‘back to basics’ experience, using the wood collected from the woods around us to heat the house and water, using stoves, also with solar panels, to use all the sunshine. We make use of the hot water when it is available. We also have a communal kitchen where we take turns to cook and wash up, although Lucy is always happy to cook or help with cooking if you do not feel inclined.  We grow and preserve a lot of our own produce and go to local Markets for delicious fruit and vegetables only to be found in Italy!   It is a truely relaxing and and authentic experience.

Spring is very green and begins to warm up in April, and May, it sometimes rains. Then June and July are Hot! July and August are the hottest.  We do not have air conditioning but we use the traditional techniques of shutting shutters during the day, mosquito nets set on the windows. So cool clothes and hats are a must!  In September the cooler breezes begin and October is glorious, Autumn begins and the colours are changing and nature is beautiful.  Winter is cold and sometimes snows, they can be harsh and when it rains it pours!  But we often sit outside in the sun and take breakfast even in January and February, and sometimes even in December.
